Located in Vancouver’s Shaughnessy neighbourhood, this residential renovation transformed the main floor of a Victorian home into a refined and highly livable space for a young family. Andrea Rodman Interiors led the full-service interior design, balancing classical architectural character with a more contemporary and expressive interior approach.

The renovation focused on creating an open and welcoming environment that supports both daily family life and larger social gatherings. At the center of the home, the kitchen was designed as a functional and social hub, integrating natural stone surfaces, light finishes, and carefully detailed millwork to create a sense of openness and continuity throughout the space.

Classical moulding details and architectural elements were thoughtfully preserved and reinterpreted, while modern interventions introduced a lighter and more contemporary atmosphere. European oak flooring and precision laser-cut millwork screens add texture and craftsmanship, creating visual depth within the restrained material palette.

In response to the clients’ artistic sensibilities, the interiors incorporate soft pastel tones layered against neutral finishes, bringing warmth, individuality, and subtle vibrancy to the home.
